Road closure information from Lee Valley VeloPark

Dear Chobham Manor Residents,

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be coming to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park when Track and Para Track Cyclists compete at Lee Valley VeloPark from Friday 29 July to Monday 1 August.

There will be some impact for residents living near to the venue, as safety and security measures are put into place to ensure the smooth running of the event.

From Thursday 21 July until Tuesday 2 August, Abercrombie Road will be closed to all traffic, between the junction with Derny Avenue to Olympic Park Avenue.

Residents of Olympic Park Avenue within Permit Access Only road restrictions will be provided with local access permits.
Keirin Road, Peloton Avenue, and Coopers Lane will be accessible, however there will be no access onto Abercrombie Road via those routes, and Controlled Parking measures will be in place to prevent spectator parking at Games time.

A map of the road restrictions is attached below.

If you would like to find out more about the Games and the local impacts, the Get Set for the Games team will be hosting a drop-in session at Lee Valley VeloPark on Monday 30 May, from 5.30-7.30pm. Please arrive at any time to find out more and to ask questions – no registration is necessary.

Planned temporary road closure – Phase 3

Hi All,

From tomorrow, until close of business Thursday 19th May 2022 it will be necessary for a part of Abercrombie Road to be temporarily closed. This is so we can carry out essential works at height.

Thank you for your understanding.

Phase 1 – Power Outage

Hi All Residents,

We are aware of the power outage which has effected most, if not all residents on Chobham Manor Phase 1. I have made contact with GTC who manage the network of power to understand the scale of the problem and the time frame for resolution.

At this current stage, GTC are still investigating the issue and cannot confirm a time frame for resolution. However, residents can visit https://www.gtc-uk.co.uk/live-incidents/ to see the latest updates by typing in their postcode. Don’t forget, you can also register your number for SMS updates inline with the progress being made with the network.

Please note, this is not a fault that can be resolved by any contractors, so please do not call through to L&Q or Taylor Wimpey. This will only lead to unnecessary charges.

From historic incidents, I note that some water tanks require a reset – we have this earmarked for action, should it be neccessary.

Should you have any further questions, please email me directly at ahussain3@lqgroup.org.uk

Thank you for your understanding.
