CARE is one of the world’s leading aid agencies, fighting poverty, and helping vulnerable people in over 75 countries around the world. They deliver long-term programs to fight poverty, with a specific focus on women and girls. A Girls’ Hike Out is an opportunity to support CARE’s life-changing work and spend a day walking with like-minded women who are driven by a common cause.
What’s even better than a girls’ night out? Why, a girls’ hike out of course – you could even do both in one day! Yes, it’s a marathon-distance walk but it’s a totally achievable marathon! You’ll walk side by side with other women just like you as you wind your way along the River Lea from Hertfordshire, all the way to the spectacular Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. By taking part and pledging to raise at least £250, you’ll support women and girls living in poverty around the world, helping them to take control over their lives. All participants receive a hand-painted CARE medal at the finish line and a whole heap of support in the lead up to the big day, from fundraising ideas to a 9-week training guide.
