Chobham Manor Community Facility – Resident Representative required

Dear Residents,

As you may already know, the Chobham Manor community facility is currently being built and is due for completion Early 2021. The community facility is positioned on the corner of Honour Lea Avenue (Block 3E) and Temple Mills Lane and will house the new community centre and a nursery which will be run by N-Family and is due to open Spring 2021.

The new community centre is due to open in the first half of 2021 (Covid-19 restrictions depending) and we’re starting the process to secure an operator for this space. Our mission is to provide a high quality community facility providing a hub for local residents and the wider community with a range of social, economic, recreational and learning opportunities whilst promoting equality, diversity and community cohesion.

To look for an operator to run the community centre, our next steps towards achieving this are:

1. Early engagement notice

An Early Engagement notice has been posted on the Governments Contract Finder website, please see link here https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/663ab7eb-5753-47bf-924b-8d3fe75a51ad

This provides the opportunity to gauge interest from potential operators. Please feel free to share this notice with any potential operators that you may know.

2. Recruit resident representatives

We are looking to invite a Chobham Manor resident to be part of the Community Facility Working Group (CFWG) and be involved with securing a suitable operator for the community facility. Please see link to letter attached below. If you would like to be involved and contact me via email to express your interest. Please help to share this invite through your resident networks e.g. Facebook, CMRA, WhatsApp groups.

3. Procure an operator for the community facility

We will follow a tender process to appoint a suitable operator for the community facility.  The CFWG will write and approve the brief for this tender. A key focus for the early set up and opening phase of the centre will be engaging with the local residents and nearby communities to help shape and inform the way the community centre is programmed.

Please may I kindly ask you to help share this information amongst your fellow Chobham Manor residents via your networks.

Thanks,

Sharan Ansong,

Business Lead – Chobham Manor
