CROP Apple Day sadly cancelled

CROP (Chobham Residents Orchard Project) is very disappointed to announce that Apple Day planned on Sunday 18 October, has been cancelled due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions.

Apologies to all those who were looking forward to apple-themed games, art activities and, of course, the very popular apple juicing which so many residents joined in with and sampled last year.

Despite this setback, CROP intends to carry out further tree care work over the winter months, including pruning, to give the fruit trees in the Rain Garden the best chance of flourishing next spring. We will wait to see if we can organise a Covid-safe orchard ‘Wassail’ again in January and will keep residents posted about that.

In the meantime, apple and orchard fans among you might be interested in these online resources from The Orchard Project https://www.theorchardproject.org.uk/guides-and-advice/
