Disposing of various items in toilets
Dear all residents,
We hope you are all doing well and keeping fit. We understand that during this difficult time, we are doing our best to dispose of sanitary items etc the best we can, however it is imperative that we are also aware of the following.
Please note the following
We have had several emergency calls whereby drains have been block due to residents disposing of items such as, but not limited to:
- Floss
- Grease, oil or fat
- Band aids
- Medication
- Hand / surface wipes
- Kitchen Tissue (paper towel)
- Hair
- Kitty (cat) Litter
- Sanitary products
Important – Do not ignore: If you are a freeholder, leaseholder or shared owner and are still in warranty with your developer (Taylor Wimpey), you may be charged for the repair if it is deemed as negligence. If you are out of warranty, you are liable to source your own contractors to repair any blockages. So please be mindful moving forward. General need tenants, please call 0300 456 9998 for any repairs or maintenance.
The above items amongst others which can be too large in mass and weight to dispose of within toilets must be disposed of using recommended methods such as secure bin bags. During this unprecedented time, we need to work together to ensure minimal contact is made with anyone outside of your home, which means taking care you do not flush inappropriate items, thus leading to a blockage.
Many thanks for your cooperation moving forward.
