Pod Point Tariff Increase 2023

Dear Residents,

Following ongoing review and reconciliation of the podpoint EV car charge arrangements, we have identified an urgent need to revise and uplift the current EV tariffs.

Previously these were increased to 25 p/kWh to reflect the higher base cost of electricity, plus additional component costs for the tariff including pod-point service and L&Q energy service fees.

However since 1st October 2022, as a consequence of the Energy Crisis and increased wholesale costs – our procured tariff rate increased on average to 37.5p/kWh ex vat. Across the supplies to all over of Chobham estate.

Now factoring the additional component costs:

Podpoint Service fee           2p/KWh

L&Q Energy                           1 p/KWh

NEW CAR TARIFF RATE:  41 p/KWh net + VAT = 49p / KWh

We are uplifting this rate effective from the 1st August 2023.

Note- Maintenance and PPM services.

Following reviews with podpoint, we are exploring options of planned preventative maintenance as well as a annual maintenance service. Should we decide to go ahead with this it will result in the tariff increasing further in order to fund the maintenance costs. This will mean that EV users will be contributing towards the cost and not residents who do not use the EV charging pods.

Podpoint have demonstrated an example uplift cost to the tariff for this and if we were to wrap this charge into the tariff costs, it would then see tariff increase to around 84 p/kWh. This is still being reviewed, we will write to residents following any updates.
